Quote of the Day – Martin Luther

March 4, 2008 Pete Williamson 2 comments

I heard David Powlison quote this in a lecture…anyone know where it comes from?

This life, therefore, is not righteousness but growth in righteousness, not health but healing, not being but becoming, not rest but exercise. We are not yet what we shall be but we are growing toward it. The process is not yet finished but it is going on. This is not the end but it is the road. All does not yet gleam in glory but all is being purified.

Sermon text for March 9th – Luke 13:18-21

18 He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? 19 It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”

20 And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? 21 It is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”

Let’s Start Savin’ Some Daylight

sleepyIf nothing else, my hope for this blog is that it would shine out as a beacon of hope and reason during the violent biannual transitions from standard to daylight savings time with the simple message of either “spring forward” or “fall back”.

Remember to set your clocks ahead this Sunday (March 9th).
